I usually remove the Dell crapware anyway so I won't install that regardless. So at this point, is there any reason to go and install anything from Dell? I don't need the proset control panel for the Intel WiFi card, it just has Intel integrated graphics, and otherwise it seems to be running along zippy. To my surprise, EVERY device on the system was detected properly and a driver installed from the Microsoft repo. I just finished installing the latest version of Win10 Pro and ran all of the windows update. Was also able to switch the BIOS to UEFI and enable Secureboot. It was originally upgraded from Win 8 through to the current version of Win10 and needed a big BIOS update, so was worthwhile anyway IMHO. Unfortunately, despite me making her account a standard user, she managed to install something and rather than troubleshoot, I decided to just backup, DBAN wipe the drive, and reinstall it. Decent little machine: i5, 8GB, 7200RPM drive, came with the docking station. A year and a half ago I bought my mom a relatively cheap off-lease Dell Latitude E5440.
